CYA’S Ally Pack
Hate speech towards disabled people is not only the least reported it is also underreported. This is due to the disabled community feeling they are not always able to stand up for themselves. Some of us feel our voices are not respected.
We created this Ally Pack to raise awareness of what online disability hate and ableism is and how you can combat it.
#FacebookHasNoStandards is our campaign to make Facebook take disability hate on their platform seriously. Facebook is failing to protect disabled people from online hate and discrimination.
We’re campaigning for:
Facebook to change their procedures to protect disabled people from online hate, by taking down ableist comments and posts and stop allowing ableist slurs online, and changing its policy to cover over reported posts and comments while they are being investigated.
To make sure the Government’s Online Safety Bill will protect disabled people online.
And to make sure disabled people have a voice on Oversight Boards and Safety Boards of Facebook and other social media companies.
