Why Do We Need Allies?

The disabled community is a marginalised group, and often our allies' voices are heard more than ours. By having a larger group supported by allies, our voice is amplified and becomes louder. It becomes much harder to ignore us!

Allies can join the CYA journey, which hopefully gives them a new perspective on the world while having a great time as well.

Allies can learn a thing or two from us at CYA…

…we’re pretty smart and creative folk.

All our existing allies are amazing, and we love the support they give us. But more supporters mean a bigger reach. We would absolutely love to hear from Coventry City Football Club, Nina Tame, Ed Sheeran, Jack Grealish, and Cheatham with Dreams—you are all people who would vibe with our tribe!

How can allies support the disabled community?

  • Fill out our Google form sharing your experiences online.

  • Sign up for our ally pack to learn more.

  • Show up to our Ally Gathering on 27th September to learn more.

  • Follow us on all the socials.

  • Share our posts, especially the ones about our events.

  • Use what you learn from the ally pack to report online hate.

  • Check out the rest of our website (it’s great!).

What does being an ally of CYA look like?

You’ll be joining a joyful movement full of passion, silliness, and creativity. You’ll have a chance to amplify the voices of those trying to make the world (both real and digital) a better place. And there are always biscuits….
