The Best Way to Share Biscuits
What is a biscuit Breaker?
The Biscuit Breaker idea came from an ideas factory. It started out as whatever biscuit you had corresponded with a different question! It has since evolved into what it is now.
It's like an ice breaker but as CYA loves biscuits we decided to call it that. It's a really good way to get to know each other and learn more about group dynamics. We always start a session with a biscuit breaker. At our in person session we normally eat biscuits as we answer the questions! Any biscuit companies that would like to sponsor us please get in touch
We use biscuit breakers at meetings we have with other organisations and people who hold positions of power. We would love more people to use our biscuit breakers in their meetings as a way to get to know each other better
For the Facebook campaign we had special biscuits made by Chloe Andrew with questions we wanted to ask Facebook. We took the biscuits down to Facebook HQ along with 100 or so allies and CYA members. We did this as we were not able to get in touch with Facebook. We thought this was a good way to connect with them. We did eventually hear from them and we have had meetings with them since to discuss our concerns. We are currently working with them.
My role at CYA
I was chosen by the other members of CYA to be the person who decides what biscuit breakers we have. I have split them up into different categories: check ins, fun, social media/online, Coventry and leadership
I am very surprised when I hear people have been using my biscuit breakers in their meetings. I am really proud of myself when I hear people are using them
Out of all the people in the world, who would you want to ask a biscuit breaker question too?
I would really like to ask a biscuit breaker to the current prime minister. I also have an ask for him. I would ask him to help CYA to stop online disability hate and hold social media platforms to account
